
Victorian, circa 1880. 14ins high, 14.4ins wide, 14.4ins depth. Joseph Holdcroft Majolica jardinière and stand which features four panels depicting nesting birds in trees.
In two, the nest contains eggs.
And in the other two, the eggs have hatched into chicks.
Bamboo-effect edges and corners.
Colouration: turquoise, yellow, brown, are predominant.
CONDITION: Jardiniere: Generally Good. A few inconspicuous flakes.
KILN EFFECTS: firing crack to the bamboo.
Stable stress lines to the bottom. One visible to interior.
Three visible to exterior.
RESTORATION. Three stabilised and retouched cracks to the side.
Filled chip to rim.
Stand: Generally Good. RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched cracks running across the piece (possibly has been in pieces, but impossible to tell).
