
Victorian, circa 1875. 6.3ins high, 2.8ins wide, 3ins depth. Sarreguemines French Majolica preserve pot, cover and spoon which features an anthropomorphic penguin, standing with hands in pockets, dressed in top hat and tails. Original spoon.
Colouration: yellow, brown, grey, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Sarreguemines pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1102'.
CONDITION: Good. RESTORATION. Two retouched flakes to reverse of jacket.
Filled chip to brim of hat.
