Mintons Majolica Cats-at-Play Bowl

Victorian, circa 1873. 4.7ins high, 11.6ins wide, 7.3ins depth. Mintons Majolica bowl which features cat handles at either end.

The cats are modelled hanging on to the sides of the bowl, playing with balls of string, which form the feet of the dish.

Colouration: yellow, turquoise, white, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '41'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1873.

Condition

CONDITION: Very Good. No restoration. Slight abrasion to tip of one cat's ear.

KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray blue glaze to the interior of the bowl.
