Holdcroft Majolica Heron Oval Planter/Jardiniere

Victorian, circa 1870. 8.5ins high, 17.9ins wide, 11.1ins depth. Holdcroft Majolica jardinière which features a heron stood holding prey, amongst bullrushes/cattails and foliage.

Colouration: cobalt blue, green, brown, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally Good. Small flake to the rim.

Flake to leaf below handle.

Patch of wear below one handle.

Some scattered scratches to the cobalt glaze.

RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairline on the exterior only (not present on interior), around the brown join between the foot and the sides of the jardiniere.
