George Jones Majolica Partridge Game Pie Dish

Victorian, circa 1873. 7.5ins high, 13.8ins wide, 8.9ins depth. George Jones Majolica game pie dish which features a partridge finial on the lid, sitting amongst ferns and leaves.

The sides of the dish decorated with rabbits and leaves.

Oak branch handles to either end.

Cobalt blue ground version. Colouration: cobalt blue, green, brown, are predominant.

Bears a pattern number, '3271 80'. English diamond registration mark for the date 27/12/1873.

Condition

CONDITION: Dish: Good. Small flake to the rim.

Kiln effects: Cobalt blue glaze has slightly matt finish in places. An original effect from when the piece was fired in the kiln.

RESTORATION. A few retouched flakes.

Cover: Very Good. RESTORATION. Tiny retouched flake to tip of the beak.
