George Jones Majolica Butterfly Match Box

Victorian, circa 1874. 1.2ins high, 3.9ins wide, 2.7ins depth. George Jones Majolica match box which features a butterfly forming the removable lid.

The base is embellished with buttercups around the sides.

Colouration: scarlet, yellow, blue, are predominant.

English diamond registration mark for the date 18/12/1874.

Condition

CONDITION: Very Good. No restoration. Some very light wear.

KILN EFFECTS: faint, over glazed shrinkage line to the underside of the butterfly head, not present above.
