The sampler is worked in a brown cotton-like thread on a linen ground, mainly in cross stitch.
Simple line border. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case and numbers 1-10.
Signed and dated, 'Margaret Gibson Aged ten Years May 5th Montrose. Eighteen Hundred twenty one'.

CONDITION: Generally Good. No holes.
Patchy staining, particularly around the outside.
No stitch losses. Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined. No colour run. Neatly and evenly stretched.
Frame showing slight wear, otherwise sound.
