The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in cross stitch throughout.

Simple line border and divider lines in a number of patterns.

Colours green, gold, pink, red and brown.

Alphabets A-Z in upper case and lower case and numbers 1-12.

Inscription reads, 'Obey Your Parent'.

Signed and dated 'Mary Faulke 1791'.

Framed in an old wood frame with glass.

Mounting: The sampler is loose mounted onto card.

Frame backed with card and sealed with tape.

CONDITION: Good. One small hole on the far left side.

Small hole above date.

No stitch losses. Colours are slightly faded, but still well defined. No colour run. Neatly and evenly stretched.

Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
