Staffordshire Pottery Miss Florence Nightingale Figure

Victorian, circa 1860. 14.2ins high, 6.1ins wide, 3.9ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery figure which features a young Miss Florence Nightingale, stood on an oval base.

The piece is titled, 'MISS NIGHTINGALE'.

Dull gilt embellishment. Flatback, decorated only to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Two small flakes to front of dress. Tiny abrasion to nose.

Minor rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: a few glaze misses to reverse of her dress;

kiln soot caught in the glaze to reverse of right arm.

Shrinkage line down pillar on side.

Shrinkage line around underside of base.

RESTORATION: Filled chip to front of dress near foot.

Filled chip to reverse, by vent hole.
