
Circa 1890. 11.8ins high, 11.8ins wide, 3.3ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features fish caught in a net. An eel, a smaller fish and a variety of shell fish to the rim.
Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.
CONDITION: Good. No restoration.
Some flaking to footrim, green shredded clay and edge of mussel.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze accumulation to the footrim.
