
Victorian, circa 1880. 9.4ins high, 7.9ins wide, 4.7ins depth. Lonitz Majolica wall pocket which features a goldfinch on one side and another finch on the other, attending their nests, surrounded by oak leaves and acorns.
Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Lonitz pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1264'.
CONDITION: Wall pocket 1: Generally Good.
RESTORATION. Right wing tip reglued and join retouched.
Left wing reglued and join retouched.
Filled chip to tip of beak.
Around 6 or so filled chips and flakes to the oak leaves around the edges.
Wall pocket 2: Good.
KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to tip of right wing.
RESTORATION. Left wing reglued and join retouched.
Filled chip to bird's beak.
