Pair Minton Majolica Cherub Trumpet Vases

Victorian, circa 1863. Tallest is 24.8ins high, 7.8ins wide, 7.8ins depth. Pair of Minton Majolica vase figurals which feature a pair of winged cherubs, supporting a large trumpet vase.

Colouration: Minton-blue, cream, green, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1863.

Condition

CONDITION: Vase 1: Good. KILN EFFECTS: glaze misses to the rim.

RESTORATION. Trumpet vase reglued and join retouched, across magenta band.

Vase 2: Generally Good. KILN EFFECTS: glaze misses to the rim.

Shrinkage line to rim.

RESTORATION. Trumpet vase reglued and join retouched, across magenta band.

Cherubs reglued and join retouched, across ankles and sash.

One cherub wing reglued and join retouched.
