George Jones Majolica strawberry plate

Victorian, circa 1875. 0.9ins high, 8.3ins wide, 8.3ins depth. George Jones Majolica plate which features strawberry flowers and leaves.

Cobalt blue ground version. Colouration: cobalt blue, green, white, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the George Jones pottery. Bears a pattern number, '3363'.

 

Condition

CONDITION: Good. No restoration. Some wear to the high points of the molding.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to the interior; patchy cobalt glaze application.
