
Victorian, circa 1860. 8.7ins high, 9.4ins wide, 6.7ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery egg tureen and cover which features a hen and her chicks, resting on an oval basketweave tureen base.
Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
CONDITION: Hen: Good.
Two tight hairlines to the underside rim - do not come through to the upper surface.
Small flake to beak.
RESTORATION. Retouched paint losses comb and underside of tail.
Nest: Generally good.
A few paint losses to exterior.
RESTORATION. Filled chips to inner rim.
Stabilised and retouched hairline to the interior.
