
Victorian, circa 1850. 8.7ins high, 11.4ins wide, 9.1ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery potpourri holder which features a large, ornate country cottage/house, stood on a shaped base.
Dull gilt embellishment. Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.
CONDITION: Cottage: Generally good.
A few paint losses to roof.
KILN EFFECTS: staining to the interior.
RESTORATION. Remodelled 3 turrets.
Retouched flakes to base edge.
Base: Good.
Some small flakes to the ground.
KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage crack to one handle;
small firing holes to the ground.
RESTORATION. One handle reglued and join retouched.
Filled chips to inner rim, petals and leaves.
Stabilised and retouched hairlines to interior.
Cover: Good. Slight wear.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to corner rim.
Retouched flakes to flower and bruise to rim.
