George I, dated 1717. 16.5ins high by 9.25ins wide. Antique Sampler, 1717 Band Sampler by Anna Prentice. The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches.

Divider lines in various patterns. Colours red, yellow, light brown, black, blue and green.

Three figure motifs and a couple of finely worked embroidery panels.

Framed in a modern, gilt over wood, frame with glass. Mounting: Mounted to conservator standards on acid free card. Frame backed with card.

CONDITION: Generally good. A few holes to the centre and the bottom left.

A few patchy stains.

Very minor stitch losses to the divider lines and one of the motifs.

Most colours good and strong. No colour run. Stretching is slightly uneven.

Frame in very good condition, ready to hang.
