Rare Mafra Majolica Palissy Monkfish Wall Plaque

Circa 1890. 2.8ins high, 11.4ins wide, 5.1ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plaque which features a monkfish.

Colouration: brown, grey, cream, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.

CONDITION: Good.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze run to the brown enamel;

glaze accumulation to the underside.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to back fin.
