
Circa 1890. 9.8ins high, 9.8ins wide, 2.8ins depth. Jose A Cunha Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features a snake attacking a lizard. Surrounded by moths and grubs.
Colouration: green, ochre, blue, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Jose A Cunha pottery.
CONDITION: Good.
Small chips to antennae of both moths.
A flake to the snake.
A couple of flakes to footrim.
RESTORATION. Filled chips to six legs of one beetle
and two legs to the other beetle.
