Palissy Majolica Monkey Wall Pocket

Circa 1890. 7.9ins high, 6.3ins wide, 3.9ins depth. Jose A Cunha Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall pocket which features a monkey holding onto the top a palm tree.

Colouration: green, brown, cream, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Jose A Cunha pottery.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. No restoration.

A couple of small flakes to rim and one to top of palm tree.

KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the palm tree.
