Palissy Rectangular Snake Wall Plaque

Circa 1890. 9.4ins high, 11.8ins wide, 1.2ins depth. French Palissy Majolica wall plaque which features a snake, frog, lizard and insects surrounded by a leafy border.

Colouration: green, blue, brown, are predominant.

Condition

CONDITION: Good.

Slight wear to front and reverse.

KILN EFFECTS: over glazed chip to one corner and rim;

touch mark to one leaf.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to two corners.

Legs and one antennae remodelled to crayfish.

Lizard's head remodelled.

Two retouched flakes to leaves.
