Cobalt blue ground version. Colouration: cobalt blue, green, cream, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery.
Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1873.

CONDITION: Very good. No restoration.
KILN EFFECTS: kiln grit caught in the glaze;
flecks of stray coloured glaze to the mermen and interior;
shrinkage crack to underside of mermen's posterior.
