
Victorian, circa 1870. 9.4ins high, 13.8ins wide, 13.8ins depth. Minton Majolica jardinière which features a fish, a partridge, a peacock feather and various other hand-coloured flora and fauna.
Artist and designer, William Stephen Coleman, was paid £200 by Minton for the designs on the 'Naturalist' service, which this jardiniere features.
Colouration: white, turquoise, lilac, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1445'. English diamond registration mark for the date 18/03/1870. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1870.
CONDITION: Generally good.
Wear and some staining to the interior from use.
Slight wear to rim.
RESTORATION. Two stabilised and retouched hairlines to the rim.
