Minton Majolica Cherubs Candelabra

Victorian, circa 1860. 24.4ins high, 11.4ins wide, 11.4ins depth. Minton Majolica candelabra which features two cherubs supporting the 3 branch candelabra in their arms.

Stood on an ornate base with lion masks and leaves. Colouration: cobalt blue, green, cream, are predominant.

Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1860.

 

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good. KILN EFFECTS: slight glaze run to the cobalt blue and green glazes;

a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze.

RESTORATION. One branch reglued in two place and joins retouched.

Bottom part of one wing reglued and join retouched.

Filled chip to base on one candle holder.
