Sarreguemines Majolica Mythical Comport

Circa 1890. 10.2ins high, 12.6ins wide, 12.6ins depth. Sarreguemines Majolica compote which features mythical dolphin heads around he base.

Colouration: cobalt blue, turquoise, ochre, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Sarreguemines pottery. Bears a pattern number, '91 E'.

Condition

CONDITION: Good.

Slight wear and scratching to interior.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to the underside;

glaze run to the cobalt glaze.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to one foot.
