
Victorian, circa 1864. 14.2ins high, 11.4ins wide, 7.5ins depth. Rare Minton Tin-Glazed Majolica Pictorial Lidded Vase with Cupid Handles. Features a pictorial scene of people in a country landscape.
The vase was painted by J D Rochfort - an artist who painted Minton pottery, active 1860s-70s, who took up pottery decoration as a hobby.
Colouration: blue, ochre, grey, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1864. The piece is also signed numerous times, by the artist J D Rochfort.

KILN EFFECTS: flecks of stray coloured glaze to the interior.
