
Circa 1880. Tallest is 9.8ins high, 6.5ins wide, 4.1ins depth. Pair of Menton Majolica wall pockets which feature a donkeys head, citrus fruits (oranges and lemons) and tree blossom.
Colouration: green, orange, yellow, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Menton pottery.
CONDITION: Wall pocket 1: Good.
Some small flakes to the flowers and leaves.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the donkey's head;
glaze pops to brown glaze.
RESTORATION. Donkey's left ear reglued and join retouched.
Filled chips to leaves and petals.
