Meandering strawberry border.
Colours greens, gold, black, browns and cream.
Verse reads
'Bless d jesus when I ve run my race
Grant me a place on high
I m not too young to die'.
Signed and dated
'Harriett Tremayne Stevens Done in the 10th year of her age 1838'.
A good set of motifs, including a house with a garden,
a bee,
lions,
stars,
dogs,
birds,
fir trees,
potted flowering plants
and fruit baskets.
Framed in a modern, gilt over wood, frame with glass.
Mounting: The sampler is stitched to linen. Frame backed with card.
CONDITION: Good.
A few holes.
No stains other than slight uniform age darkening of the ground.
No stitch losses.
Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading.
No colour run.
Stretching is slightly uneven.
Frame in very good condition, ready to hang.
