George II, dated 1732. 12ins by 7.75ins wide. 1732 Sampler by Mary loder.

The sampler is worked in silk on linen ground, in a variety of stitches including Algerian eye.

No border, divider lines in various patterns.

Colours cream, green, pink and blue.

Alphabets A-Z in lower case

Inscriptions read

A few motifs including a Lion,

flowers, hearts, birds and crowns.

Framed in an old, gilded frame with gilt slip and glass. Mounting: The sampler is mounted on acid free card.

CONDITION: Generally good. No holes.

A few stains.

Stitch losses to the divider lines.

Colours are mostly good and strong with no noticeable fading.

The silks bright and glossy.

No colour run.

Stretching is very slightly uneven.

Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
