Pair Staffordshire Royal Children on Spaniels

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 9.1ins high, 8.3ins wide, 3.5ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire figures with a royalty theme which feature a boy and a girl each on the back of a spaniel, stood on a shaped base.

Russet and white version. Dull gilt base line and embellishment.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse. Vent hole to the reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration.

Small, shallow chips and flakes to the base edge, mainly on the reverse.

A few paint losses to his shoes and dog's markings, ears, tail and muzzle.

Slight rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: craze lines to the reverse.

Left facing: Good. No restoration.

Small shallow chips to right front paw and base edges.

Some small flakes to the dog's muzzle and tail, her hat, left hand, skirt, shoes, ground and base edge.

A few paint losses to dog's markings, muzzle and ears.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze pops to her hair;

over glazed bruise to the dog's hind right leg.
