Pair Staffordshire Spaniels with Pups on Cushions

Victorian, circa 1860. Tallest is 6.3ins high, 4.9ins wide, 3.3ins depth. Pair of Staffordshire Pottery figures which feature a spaniel and begging pup, seated on a tasselled cushion base.

Russet and white version.

Dull gilt embellishment. Flatback, decorated mainly to the front. Vent hole to the reverse.

CONDITION: Right facing: Good. No restoration.

Some paint losses to markings and cushion.

Slight rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage cracks to the underside of the base, with associated shallow chips on base edge.

Left facing: Good. No restoration.

A few paint losses to markings and cushion.

Slight rubbing to gilt.

KILN EFFECTS: touch mark to the reverse.
