Staffordshire Pearlware 'Venus' Figure

pre-Victorian, circa 1820. 8.7ins high, 4.1ins wide, 3.1ins depth. Staffordshire Pottery pearlware figure with a mythological theme which features Venus

with a small child and dolphin, stood on a square base.

Decorated 'in the round' - decoration to front and reverse.

Vent hole to the underside.

Condition

CONDITION: Generally good.

KILN EFFECTS: tiny glaze pops to the mound;

flecks of stray coloured glaze to the child.

RESTORATION. Right hand reglued and retouched.

Retouched flake to her hair and paint losses to dolphin.
