Alves Majolica Palissy Hare & Hound Coffee/Teapot

Victorian, circa 1890. 11.8ins high, 8.3ins wide, 5.5ins depth. Antonio Alves Portuguese Palissy Majolica teapot which features a greyhound handle and a rabbit sitting upon the removable lid.

Colouration: brown, green, ochre, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Antonio Alves pottery.

Condition

CONDITION: Cover: Good.

Tiny flakes to lower rim.

RESTORATION. Hare's ears reglued and join retouched.

Filled chip to hare's tail.

Pot: Good. No restoration.

Some flaking to rim,

one hare and dog's nose.
