
Circa 1890. 12.8ins high, 12.8ins wide, 3.1ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features colourful fish.
Colouration: brown, cream, green, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.
CONDITION: Good.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to mouth on middle fish.
Filled chip to lower tail fin and dorsal fin on middle fish.
Filled chip to tail fin on top fish.
Filled chip to nose of lower fish.
A few retouched flakes to rim and ground.
