Mafra Palissy Majolica Fish, Eel, Insect & Frog plate

Victorian, circa 1890. 12.4ins high, 12.4ins wide, 2.8ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features fish,

an eel, insects and a frog.

Colouration: brown, green, blue, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.

Condition

CONDITION: Good. No restoration.

Chip to side of eel head.

Two chips to footrim.

Small flake to top of frog's head.

KILN EFFECTS: shrinkage line to one of the leaves.
