
Circa 1890. 9.4ins high, 9.4ins wide, 3.3ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features four fish and shells.
Colouration: blue, grey, green, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery.
CONDITION: Good.
Some small flakes to green shredded clay and shells.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln grit caught in the glaze to fish and one shell;
glaze accumulation to the reverse.
RESTORATION. Filled chips to blue fish fins and tail.
