Wedgwood Majolica Heron Plate

Victorian, circa 1871. 9.4ins high, 9.4ins wide, 1ins depth. Wedgwood Majolica plate which features a heron at the edge of a pond. Designed by Joseph Theodore Deck. Colouration: pale blue, green, cream, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Wedgwood pottery. Bears a pattern number, '864'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1871.

 

Condition

CONDITION: Good. No restoration. Wear to the high points of the molding.

KILN EFFECTS: glaze miss to the border.
