Wedgwood Majolica Heron Plate with Pierced Rim

Victorian, circa 1872. 9.3ins high, 9.3ins wide, 1.1ins depth. Wedgwood Majolica plate which features a heron at the edge of a pond, reeds and bulrushes behind, and a dragonfly above.

Designed by Joseph Theodore Deck.

Colouration: cream, green, ochre, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Wedgwood pottery.

Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1872.

Condition

CONDITION: Very good. No restoration.

Small flake to brown rim.
