
Victorian, circa 1872. 5.7ins high, 5.5ins wide, 4.9ins depth. Wedgwood Majolica jug/pitcher with a mythological theme which features a Neptune mask and mythological sea horses (Hippocampus).
Colouration: turquoise, ochre, grey, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Wedgwood pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1055'.
Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1872.
CONDITION: Very Good. No restoration.
Slight wear to exterior.
KILN EFFECTS: thin glaze application to turquoise ground;
glaze miss to one of the sea horses.
