Minton Majolica Bamboo Garden Seat

Victorian, circa 1865. 18.5ins high, 13.4ins wide, 13.4ins depth. Minton Majolica garden seat which features a bundle of bamboo tied with decorated blue ribbon.

Colouration: ochre, cobalt blue, brown, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, '481'. Marks include a factory specific date cipher for the year 1865.

 

Condition

CONDITION: Good. No restoration. Light scratches from use.

KILN EFFECTS: firing cracks from the handle;

shrinkage cracks to the edge, one with associated chips;

glaze run to the cobalt blue glaze.
