
Circa 1890. 7.3ins high, 7.3ins wide, 2.4ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features toads,
tortoise and salamander on a sandy ground.
Colouration: brown, ochre, blue, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery. Bears a pattern number, '6'.
CONDITION: Good. No restoration.
Small flake to rim,
salamander's tail and back.
KILN EFFECTS: glaze accumulation to the front rim.
