
Circa 1890. 7.1ins high, 7.1ins wide, 2.4ins depth. Mafra Portuguese Palissy Majolica wall plate which features toads and salamanders.
Colouration: green, brown, ochre, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Mafra pottery. Bears a pattern number, '6'.
CONDITION: Very good. No restoration.
Minor flaking to small toad's mouth
and large salamander's nose.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to large toad and large salamander.
