George Jones Majolica Cobalt Muffin Dish & Cover

Victorian, circa 1870. 3.5ins high, 7.7ins wide, 7.7ins depth. George Jones Majolica muffin dish with cover which features a picket fence, daisies, corn, brambles and a twig handle.

Cobalt blue ground version.

Colouration: white, ochre, green, are predominant.

Impressed and painted marks to the reverse.

Condition

CONDITION: Cover: Good.

KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to the exterior.

RESTORATION. Filled chips to rim and one to end of twig handle.

Dish: Good.

Slight wear to interior.

RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched hairline to rim (visible to reverse).

Retouched flakes to rim.
