
Victorian, circa 1880. Tallest is 26.8ins high, 12.6ins wide, 12ins depth. Pair of Forester Majolica figurals which feature blackamoors holding baskets.
Colouration: brown, ochre, dark pink, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Forester pottery.
CONDITION: Female: Generally good.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to clothing and ground.
RESTORATION. Both arms and sections to right side of basket reglued and joins retouched.
Filled chip to one toe.
Retouched flakes to toes
and basket handles.
Male: Good.
Some small flakes to collar,
basket handles and toes.
KILN EFFECTS: a few specks of kiln detritus caught in the glaze to clothing.
RESTORATION. Retouched flake to left knee.
Filled chips to lower base edge.
