Sarreguemines Majolica Cockerel Posy Vase

Victorian, circa 1880. 5.5ins high, 4.3ins wide, 4.1ins depth. Sarreguemines Majolica vase which features a cockerel and chicks.

Colouration: ochre, brown, blue, are predominant.

The piece bears maker's marks for the Sarreguemines pottery. Bears a pattern number, '98'.

 

Condition

CONDITION: Good. Some small flakes to chicks and cockerel's tail.

KILN EFFECTS: piece of kiln detritus caught inside causing piece to rattle.

RESTORATION. Filled chip to rim and spill rim.

Filled chip to beak and comb.
