
Circa 1875. 5.5ins high, 16.3ins wide, 11.8ins depth. Lonitz Majolica planter which features a fox emerging from a hiding hole at either end (forming handles), stalking a pair of ducks.
Colouration: turquoise, green, brown, are predominant.
The piece bears maker's marks for the Lonitz pottery. Bears a pattern number, '1306'.
CONDITION: Generally good.
Some small flakes to upper rim.
Some wear and staining to interior through use.
RESTORATION. Stabilised and retouched crack to the interior bottom and underside.
Four filled chips to base rim branches.
Filled chips to two of the ducks wings
and one to duck's cheek.
Filled chips to ear tips of both foxes.
