Circa 1650. 15.25 by 5.75 ins wide. Circa 1650 Whitework sampler. Framed in an old wood frame with rippled, old glass to the front and reverse - the sampler can be viewed from both sides.

Loose mounted between the glass.

Worked in silk thread, with a variety of stitches and whitework techniques - cut and drawn work for example. Floral and geometric panels and bands.

CONDITION: Good.

One small hole.

Uniform darkening of the ground.

Stretching is slightly uneven.

Frame in good condition, ready to hang.
