Colours pale blue, cream, blue, red, green, navy blue, pale green, copper, white, pink, yellow, grey and black. Alphabets A-Z in upper case and numbers 1-13.
Verse reads 'Wifdom, the greateft Beauty of the mind,
the nobleft ornament of human kind,
Wifdoms our Safe guard and our guiding Star,
that Stirs up reason When our Senses err'.
Signed with initials and dated 'LI 1777'.
A wonderful set of motifs, including Adam & Eve standing either side of the tree of life with a snake coiled around its trunk, dogs, birds, flowers, potted flowering plants, trees, laden with fruit, fir trees, blossoming trees, deer and crowns.
Framed in an old wood frame with rippled, dimpled, old glass. Tacked to linen with wood and brown paper backing.
CONDITION: Good. A few small holes.
Light stain line across top-left corner.
No stitch losses. Colours are good and strong. No colour run. Stretching is slightly uneven.
Frame has been filled to one corner, but is in good, sturdy condition, ready to hang.
