Verse reads,
'Ye little flock, whom Jesus feeds,
Dismiss your anxious cares,
Look to the shepherd of your souls,
And smile away your fears.
Tho' wolves and lions prowl around,
His staff is your defence:
Midst sands and rocks, your shepherd's voice
Calls streams and pastures thence.
The soul that on Jesus hath lean'd for repose,
I will not, I will not, desert to his foes
That soul' tho' all hell should endeavour to shake,
I'll never, no never, no never forsake:'.
Signed and dated,
'Alis Williams's 1836'.
A wonderful set of motifs, including shepherds tending their sheep,
birds,
angels,
flowers,
fruit baskets,
fir trees,
roses,
dogs
and a floral garland.
CONDITION: Generally Good.
A couple of holes, and losses to the ground on the bottom left corner.
Slight patchy staining.
There are two areas of stitch work that appear unfinished (or they could be old repairs).
Colours are all good and strong with no noticeable fading.
No colour run.
Neatly and evenly stretched.
Frame showing some wear, but is structurally sound and in our opinion could be hung 'as is'.
