Tacked to board. Brown paper covering back.
The sampler is finely worked in silk on linen ground, in cross stitch and Algerian eye.
Meandering strawberry border.
Colours green, blue, red, yellow, white, brown and cream.
Signed and dated,
'Mary Milligain Aged 11 June 1795'.
A few motifs including potted flowering plants,
diamonds,
fruit baskets,
crowns,
lions
and birds.
CONDITION: Good.
One small hole, bottom left corner.
No stains other than slight uniform age darkening of the ground.
No stitch losses.
Colours are strong and bright.
No colour run.
Frame showing wear and chips, but structurally sound.
