Staffordshire spaniels & pup inkwell on cobalt base

Victorian, circa 1860. 4ins high, 4ins wide. Small Staffordshire inkwell modeled as two spaniels, one black and white, the other russet and white, with their pup.
Ochre collar and chain on the adult dogs. Cobalt base with arched front. Two holes in front of the dogs for ink.





Dull gilt base line.

Condition

Generally good. No hairlines. No chips.

Minor paint loss to the russet dog.





Kiln effect: shrinkage crack to reverse.



Old filled chips to base edge.







Old restoration to neck of adult dog.
